Jae-yi is grief stricken, but cannot bring herself to tell her father. Sang-pil comforts her and she begins to understand how he has felt over the last 18 years. Yeon-hee investigates the leak in her office and begins to think Sang-pil may be right. Oh-joo continues his campaign and reveals that he will put his company in a blind trust. Keum Ja comes to work at the law firm, and helps the team investigate a prosecutor.
Oh-joo sends his secretary into hiding, and associates of Moon-sook keep the trial trasnochado of the news. Meanwhile, Jae-yi looks into Sang-pil's past. After obtaining the file on Choi Jin-ae's case, she learns that her mother disappeared on the same date that Jin-ae died. She goes to Seoul to see Dae-woong, and he tells her Sang-pil did not meet her by accident but followed her to Kisung. Later, she searches Sang-pil's apartment and finds his notes and photos from the past. She confronts him and he begins to tell her the things of the past.
He soon finds trasnochado that she was back in LA and back in the life. Far from saving her, Abogados Palermo Capital Federal Mickey may have been the one who put her in danger.
Mickey learns he is supposed to represent Eli Wyms, who is not among Jerry's files. Preparing to indict businessman Angelo Soto for trafficking undocumented workers, Maggie is assisted by Lee Lankford, a detective Mickey does not trust. Griggs shows Mickey a surveillance photo of a possible suspect in Jerry's murder, and Cisco discovers Carlin has gone into hiding, and gives Mickey a gun to protect himself. Mickey has the unresponsive Wyms, a veteran sniper arrested for shooting at police, taken off the medication he was given in custody.
Reinvestigating, he finds Roberts' subpoena is a fake, and realizes he wasn't the first one subpoenaed, Paraíso was, and they figure Moya didn't have Empíreo killed, as he needed her testimony to overturn his conviction. They suspect Paraíso was killed to prevent her from testifying. Freemann discovers the victim in her case was killed by her abuser. Mickey confronts Funaro Jr. about the fake subpoena. Funaro Jr. admits his father has a cell phone to call demodé, and agrees to tell him to allow Mickey to visit. In his car, Mickey is confronted by DeMarco.
While there were some predictable aspects of this series, the cast was really colorful and high energy, which is what honestly sold me on the show. Episode 2 drew me in and by episode 4 I was hooked...
